Urology of Virginia has provided comprehensive urological care in Hampton Roads for nearly 100 years. Founded in 1922 by Charles Devine, the practice began growing in the 1950s. The practice gained an international reputation for genitourinary reconstructive surgery, developing new surgical techniques to correct urethral strictures and hypospadias that are still used today. In 1965, Urology of Virginia became one of the few private practices in the country to have a residency program. In the 1970s, we were instrumental in helping establish Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia, serving as faculty and becoming one of the first established EVMS departments.

PA/NP Nikki Reyes is a talented healer whom you should ensure maintains in her present job and/or gets promoted to levels of greater responsibility with Urology of Virginia. Who remembered my wife's and son's name: Nikki Reyes did she does her homework, but more than that she is maintained a healing presence that had a profound effect on both my body and soul. She is an expert in relatedness and appears to guide the discussion in a way during the visit that I felt I was the only patent she saw during that day. She exudes such positive vibrations about her job and how her patients give meaning to her work; I certainly don't routinely hear or see those foregoing things in other medical personnel with whom I have dealt. No matter how 'off-the-wall' my queries are, she is professionally prepared with a practical, articulate reply that hits the heart of what I am attempting to clarify/ascertain. While I believe firmly she would be missed in terms of patient examination, I hope that she mi
It's very comforting to find a new medical professional who provides as much comfort/care as my previous Urologist, of 20 years, who retired at the end of 2020. My recent consultation with DEBORAH HOLMES, PA was excellent. She was very familiar with my history and listened intently to new developments. The visit was on time, staff was attentive and courteous, thorough (except for no BP) and very comforting.
Dr. Kelly is the greatest. Not only is he thorough, he explains things clearly without insulting me as a patient, and I greatly appreciate that. His bedside manner is personable and comforting. His staff is equally as impressive. I stand by my 5-star rating, but I did have one issue. This seems to be universal. Being a 7 time victim of identity theft and understanding the importance of the HIPAA law, I am dubious about giving my last name and date of birth out loud, so I present my valid driver's license. The clerk who assisted with my check in demanded I say this information out loud which I found to be intimidating and rude. But if this is my only complaint out of the many times I've been, I'm good!!!
Staff were all friendly and helpful, from the security guard who guided me to the correct part of the building, and receptionists who reminded me I might need to save something for a sample, to the Medical staff (P.A., and Medical Doctor) who examined me and talked with me. They Listened to my questions and answered. Quick and easy set up of appointments. One small mix-up with the referall for follow-up quickly corrected.
I saw a great PA Christine Aloia. She was willing to answer all my questions, discuss my treatment and never once treated me like an inconvenience or like I was unable to comprehend what she was telling me. I look forward to going back to see her again. The only reason I left 4 stars was because the practice is so busy that they get behind on their appointment times quickly.
The staff from check in to check out are extremely friendly and helpful. I have not had to wait more than 5 minutes from check in to being taken back to a room. Once in the examine/procedure room, the doctor is in and out quickly. She always asks how I'm doing and has time for any questions which she explains completely. I would recommend this practice to anyone and have.
The procedure was explained well. I got to watch and the findings were shared with me immediately. I had the procedure done at another facility years previously and experienced pain afterwards so I was nervous to have this done again. I did not experience any pain this time.
Was please with Dr. James thorough examination and diagnosis. Previous visit with nurse practitioner was inconclusive. The physician helped determine that the cause of my ailment was a side-effect from a medication I'd been taking for over a year. I dropped the medication and appear to be recovering.
I want to commend in the highest terms Physician Assistant Ortiz. I have now had the pleasure of three separate sessions with her. I can't overstate my satisfaction with the way she has treated me. She is not only very effective medically, she is also exceptional in her warmness to and interest in the patient. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Arch Turner, Ph.D.
Registering was easy and when I came in and the appointment was on time. Very little wait until I was called back, however the mask mandate is over and I’ve had my 2 vaccinations and this should be put behind us. As medical professionals, you should know this. The appointment itself may be the best yet in 7 years of visits. Although it appears nobody ever reads my pre-appointment questionnaire, Dr Malcom actually asked for details on my life and symptoms created by the prostate biopsy. He gave me real alternatives and moved me along for some help with the biopsy created fallout to my life. We even talked in detail about ALL treatment for Prostate cancer. We agreed to not “over treat” and over analyze the problem and focus on those issues created by the actual process that created the diagnosis. Efficient and effective meeting that didn’t take long. Everyone was very prepared in this appointment.
The staff was very professional. The was a sign in the waiting area, that stated the their office no longer deal with Tier type of insurance far as medication. That means some of the medication will be expensive and you can not get generic. One medication that I needed was $141.00. I couldn't afford that. He stated the medication that he would have to prescribe for me I couldn't afford it.
Early virtual check in rated at 5 stars, check in and service at x-ray rated at 5 stars, check in with doctors nurse rated at 5 stars, doctor answered all questions in so that I felt comfortable and he explained his findings to my satisfaction, the only down side was an 1 1/2 hour wait to see doctor. Luckily l had nothing else to do. The doctor is outstanding and I realize I'm not his only patient.
Dr. Mark Levi is a remarkable professional and is the finest representative of the high professional standards of the Jordan Young Institute. His medical knowledge is matched by his genuine concern for the welfare of his patients. He is in touch with his patient's needs and is fully appreciative of the pain level a patient might be experiencing. Dr. Levi is a professional of the first-rate!
Dr Volz is an absolutely outstanding doctor. He goes out of his way to help his patients. He takes what ever time is necessary to listen and talk to you. I would recommend him to any friend or family member. Also, he has a great staff. Tamika has also gone out of her way to help as have the others in the office.
Very friend, knowledgeable personnel. Very efficient check-in progress. They practice distancing requirements and still require a mask which is a star in their helmet according to me. Dr. Ojo-Carons is great! He listens to you and answers all your questions so that you understand.
Dr. Eure Is a very established and popular doctor. However he never makes his patients, including myself, feel like my questions are ridiculous. He takes the time to answer and even illustrate if needed. There’s a reason why people want to see him. Also the rest of the staff are very kind and helpful.
Well organized to direct you to the correct Floor and Pod. The Staff is friendly and helpful. The notification to precheck came and actually provided all the information that was needed to actually check in. The only information that could have been provided, was that I needed to provide a urine sample at the time of check in. But because I was there early, I was able to get it done before seeing Dr.Eure, who BTW I really liked, but because I needed to move my appointments to the Suffolk office, I won't be able to continue with, I can only hope that the next Doctor is like Dr. Eure. This is the first time a Doctor was interested in knowing the vitamins and supplements I am taking in addition to my medications so be prepared to provide the supplements and vitamins information. I also like the fact that he was able to provide information on a specific over the counter supplement designed to provide a holistic method that can help to reduce Kidney stone formation, having this option to address the situation as part of my daily regimen is very important to me. Thumbs Up, Five Stars!!
