Urology of Virginia has provided comprehensive urological care in Hampton Roads for nearly 100 years. Founded in 1922 by Charles Devine, the practice began growing in the 1950s. The practice gained an international reputation for genitourinary reconstructive surgery, developing new surgical techniques to correct urethral strictures and hypospadias that are still used today. In 1965, Urology of Virginia became one of the few private practices in the country to have a residency program. In the 1970s, we were instrumental in helping establish Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia, serving as faculty and becoming one of the first established EVMS departments.

As always, Doctor Volz discussed my options in detail, taking all the time necessary to answer my questions and carefully weigh the various pros and cons, such that I can continue to make informed decisions about current and possible future courses of action. His care and comfortable manner continues to reassure me that my choice to follow him when he moved his practice remains one of the wiser decisions I have made, concerning my own and my family's welfare and wellbeing.
I believe that URO-VA is close to the best if not the very best health care system in Virginia and probably the best in the USA. I think you should put more research into fixing incontinence and E.D.. These are two health issues that is a result of radiation seed implant. More research is needed.
Dr Martin deserves 10 stars out of 5! I have be treated by many primary and specialty physicians during my 74 years and I am part of our healthcare team (clinical pharmacist). Dr Martin is the best of the best! Your whole team did a superb job and my thanks to all who helped me.
The NP was wonderful! She had a sense of humor, she was thorough, and she explained everything in a way that it was easy to understand. She was friendly and professional. My only complaint is that I did text the office when I arrived. I waited in my vehicle, but I was never called to come in. I noticed that many people drove up, parked their vehicles, and went in immediately.
I've been a patient of Dr William Rawls for over ten years. I really don't have any complaints with him, but his scheduling staff leaves a lot to be desired. The straw that broke the camel's back was that after driving 65 miles to my appointment on 9/29 at Clearfield Ave, I was told that my appointment had been cancelled! I was very fortunate to become a patient of Jennifer Fox, NP-C, at your Harbor View office! She was fantastic, and I felt right at home with her! I can honestly say that I am looking forward to my next appointment with her, and her staff, too!
A very informative and pleasant visit with Jamie Giovanelli, despite staff shortages. I’ve been in health care my entire life so I appreciate good personalized professional care. You have to remember....you are treating people, not just diseases. The receptionists handled several “non appointment “ patient needs appropriately while I waited. The nurse who checked me in, Ai was very pleasant and efficient. She was probably covering 2-3 doctors.
My recent visit to your facility was a pleasant and informative experience. Dr Rawls was very empathetic, sympathetic and knowledgeable about my problem. He exhibited superior knowledge and made me comfortable with his diagnosis and the future outcome. All clinic personnel were helpful and courteous. Made my day.
Friendly and professional coupled with knowledgeable and expert care from the physician (Dr. Volz) who took the time to answer all of my questions and clearly discussed next steps. I felt that the physician genuinely cared about me as a patient and person. I would highly recommend this practice.
I have been a patient at Urology of Virginia since 2019 and have been very pleased with the care I have received throughout the time period. My physician, Dr. Goldin is very professional and friendly. He takes the time to explain all aspects of the examination and lab test and is more than willing to answer any questions you have. As long as I need to see a urologist, I will make Urology of Virginia and Dr. Goldin my first choice.
Simple blood test draw visit but it was handle perfectly. Immediate checkin, one minute wait, phlebotomist (Nicole)was very good, finding usable vein in bone a that others would give up on, quick drawing and out. Total visit time about 7 minutes. Wish every doctors office visit was nearly as good.
This is an exceptionally client focused practice. From the Electronic Check-in to the highly proficient Check-out, I was met with a friendly and cheerful voice by a medical professional. My care was ON_TIME and there was minimal waiting in a room all-alone for the Dr. My care was professionally discussed and a treatment plan was suggested and clearly understood. I even said I did not want to do particular test so the Dr. said there was a less difficult test that would give the results he sought. It was a pleasing experience and I felt good about the experience and look forward to the tests and subsequent procedure. I really felt that I had a "Say" in my medical care.
Texted when I arrived and 5 minutes later received text to come up to 2nd floor POD C. I registered online so check-in was fast and painless. Was given my Urine Bottle and instructions. Finished the sample and went directly to have blood drawn. Experience was very good.
Dr. Kwong is certainly a most qualified and compassionate doctor,he guided my mother through her journey with bladder cancer with the utmost professionalism and compassion. He is one of the most professional physicians i have ever met...and i have met many here and at the Texas medical center in Houston texas.I feel safe in his extremely competent hands.
Nikki was incredible! Normally doctors are rushing in and out to hurry up and get on to the next one. Nikki took time to listen to my issues, recommend appropriate treatment options, and even listened to my unrelated tangential stories. 100% one of the best doctors I've ever been to!
Dr Kwong drastically improved my quality of life. He was the first urologist to listen to me about my chronic UTIs and the first doctor to suggest physical therapy. It was life changing. I went from having UTIs every month for over 20 years, even with doing basically all the stuff they tell you will prevent UTIs, to being UTI free for about a year now. They gave me the tools to better manage my own health. The only down side is the wait is frequently super long to see the doctor. Like…hours after appointment times. But honestly I just planned my day around visits and always brought an activity. The waiting was worth it in the end.
The only "complaint" is just the wait time to get an appointment. That is understandable though due to Covid. Professional, friendly, and one of the quickest in and out doctor appointments I have had. Very pleased. The office was clean, was pleased to see plenty of room and clear easy to follow safety signs for 6ft and 12ft distances. The wait time between arrival and seeing the doctor was very short. Doctor was knowledgeable and supportive and listened well. Looking forward to using them in the future.
They are extremely professional and efficient and polite and just do a really good job with all of their exams and Dr.Eure is fantastic and answers all your questions and reassures you. I’m so glad I got referred to urology of Virginia and I’m glad that I will have them to go to from now on.
